Grabbed My Coat and Grabbed My Hat...
I think I'm all ready for tomorrow's surgical lollapalooza: have a small bag that will hold a shoe (the one I won't be wearing home) and a little bit of paperwork and stuff. Have a cooler by my bed into which many many many ice packs will go. Have my pain meds right by the bed for easy and rapid access. Have arranged for dog-walking as of next Tuesday (in the interim the extremely recalcitrant Avocado will be doing the honors). Wearing a skirt tomorrow for easier getting on over the bandages. Anything I haven't thought of? No, don't tell me. I have no time to do anything else, as I have to be at the hospital at 6:00 in the @#^@!!(?* morning.
klages, who is a very good friend, is going to collect me after the event and steer my sorry butt into the house (I've promised to go up the stairs backward on my butt, so I don't mash her in reaching my room).
I expect I will be entertainingly loopy tomorrow. We'll see if I show up and amuse you all, or exercise good sense and just loll around being, in the words of my younger daughter, "Poofy."
ETA: Avocado has just reminded me that 1) she's bringing a bunch of friends home after school tomorrow and 2) tomorrow one of her counselors from camp is arriving to stay for a night or two.
I'm thinking take out tomorrow night.
