madrobins | Lost Weekend

Danny has been out of town since Thursday morning. Becca, since Friday afternoon. I had plans…oh, go to the movies, take a long walk, go to my writers workshop, clean the house. And then came this damned cold, on top of what was my retreating post-bronchitis cough. So I have done nothing. Nothing. All weekend. Except make sure the dog's basic needs were attended to, which is not (she is quick to inform me) negotiable.

I know this was the smart thing to do: slow to a halt and let my body duke it out with the microbes. But I feel weirdly cheated. Movies! Walk! Clean up!
