Nothing Is Ever as Simple As You Hope
Got the Spouse to and from his colonoscopy--which finished an hour earlier than their paperwork had led me to believe. As I was leaving the house I got a call informing me that PG&E wanted access to the house right now please but would settle for an hour. So I picked up the bleary husband and delivered him home, then went over to my friend's house, where I fed her cats, moved her car to a safe parking space, and settled in to wait for the Gas Folk. That was at about 9:30. I was there (except for twenty minutes it took me to go get a sandwich and bring it back) until 4:30, when they switched on the gas and checked to make sure nothing would explode. Then home, to pick up Emily and give her an abbreviated drag (Spouse understandably not up to it; Sarcasm Girl theoretically not up to it either. Dog cannot drag herself, alas). As I arrived, Avocado was standing there saying "You remember we have Giants tickets for tonight, right?"
So I dragged the dog, then A and I got a lift downtown and ate pizza and lasted through six and a half innings before she noted that she was tired, and I probably was too, and maybe we should go home. So we did.
I have arranged to sleep until 8 tomorrow. Woe betide the dog or human who wakes me before. I'm just sayin'.
