In All Directions

I'm off from work today so that I can go in for my post-surgical consult, and get my severance papers notarized.  The girls are off on an adventure (that is to say, flying off to Pennsylvania to visit their grandparents--this would have been impossible a year ago when they were squabbling).  My plan was to sleep in--but the girls had to be up at 6:15, and I promised them waffles (part of my secret plan to use up batter from Sunday morning)--so I am up.

Let's see if I can find some amusing things to do today.
