Emily is lying on the couch, totally zonked from the drugs they gave her so they could X-ray her foot and redo the bandages. She went for her two-week check up and, in fact, is not out of the cast, which will have to stay on for an)other 2-3 weeks. Since she has been the definition of Cabin Fever for the last week (no, seriously: look it up in Merriam Webster and you'll see a picture of a spotty dog plotting mayhem) this is not a happy thing. They've given us stronger drugs (the Xanax had no appreciable effect--or if it did, I hate to think what she was like without it!) and told us to keep her under house arrest.

It's gonna be a long exposition.
