I Hope This is Not an Augury

Younger Girl has left all her homework until the last two days (despite my nagging at her about it) and is currently mortified that, because of her poor planning, there will be no time to have fun on New Years' Day. Not only did she forget to mention the six pages of math review she was supposed to have done (which she's finishing as I type), but she has three book reports (one on a book she and I are almost finished reading together--the other two on books she's read part of) and a weather journal which she has only kept up spottily. So yesterday, to an extent, and today and tomorrow have been spent exhorting her to finish, with a variety of blandishments, threats, and cuddles.

I had hoped I was done with this. Sarcasm Girl, who used to do the same damned thing, tells me that things will be fine, because I now have the tools to deal with this. I'd love to know what those tools are, because I sure as hell don't recall them.

We're going to a party tonight, en famille. It will all be fine. I will not kill anyone.
